What is Surrogacy ? Surrogacy is a legal arrangement where a woman (the surrogate) carries and delivers a baby for another couple. The surrogate has no genetic connection to the child. Who Needs Surrogacy? Women who had a hysterectomy or were born without a uterus Women with medical conditions that prevent pregnancy Couples with recurrent IVF failures or miscarriages Women with severe uterine issues Is Surrogacy Safe? Yes, surrogacy is safe when done through a legally accredited fertility centre. A legal consultant ensures the process runs smoothly from IVF to the baby’s handover. Can Surrogacy Use Donor Eggs? Yes, surrogacy can involve donor eggs. Can Surrogacy Be Done via IUI? No, surrogacy requires IVF, not IUI. Is Surrogacy Expensive? Surrogacy costs are similar to IVF, with additional expenses for the surrogate’s living and medical needs until delivery.

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are minimally invasive procedures that provide a direct view of the pelvic organs, helping diagnose and treat infertility-related conditions. These procedures can be diagnostic (for evaluation) or operative (for treatment). Laparoscopy Diagnostic Laparoscopy examines the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries to detect conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, cysts, adhesions, or ectopic pregnancy. It is often recommended for those with pelvic pain, infections, or unexplained infertility. Operative Laparoscopy allows surgeons to treat detected issues, such as removing scar tissue, cysts, and fibroids or opening blocked fallopian tubes. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia using a laparoscope through a small incision near the navel. Hysteroscopy Diagnostic Hysteroscopy helps evaluate infertility, recurrent miscarriage, or abnormal bleeding by detecting fibroids, polyps, scarring, or uterine abnormalities. Operative Hysteroscopy treats these conditions by removing fibroids, scar tissue, or correcting structural issues like a uterine septum. Both procedures are outpatient, minimally invasive, and offer quick recovery compared to traditional surgery. Always consult with your physician to understand the risks and benefits.

Preimplantation Genetic procedure is essential for couples with repeated IVF failures, repeated abortions (habitual abortions) and aged couples, commonly done as PGT-A, for aged women to identify aneuploid embryos., with aberrant chromosomal numbers. The identification of Hereditary diseases when family history is elicited is very essential to avoid continuation of similar diseases further- PGS or PGD. Here few (minimum 4 cells) from the outer cells of the Blastocyst are aspirated using specific pipette , with the help of micromanipulator and inverted microscope , then the same are subjected for genetic testing – Next Gen Sequencing . If the cell seems to be normal then the embryo is declared as fit ones to transfer in to uterus.

Egg Donation is a Path to Parenthood for many old couple . It involves retrieving eggs from a healthy young donor (under 30),fertilizing them with the recipient’s partner’s sperms, and transferring the embryos to the recipient’s womb. This helps women who cannot conceive with their own eggs but can still carry a pregnancy. Who Needs Egg Donation? Women with premature ovarian failure or early menopause Those born without ovaries or with damaged reproductive organs Women with genetic disorders or unsuccessful previous IVF attempts

This is being done with stringent quality control to alleviate completely the chances of disease transfer. The donors are screened thoroughly in the first stage and their sperms are cryopreserved and after a quarantine of 6 months with re-evaluation of the donor it could be made eligible for uterine transfer. Only cryopreserved are being used for donor insemination schedule.

Cryopreservation is a procedure in which gametes (sperms & eggs), embryos, blastocysts, ovarian tissue and testicular tissue can be preserved for many years. This facility will reduce the cost of overall treatment procedures, raising the cumulative success rates, since the preserved embryos / Blastocysts could be transferred in subsequent cycles for failed cases without much monitory commitment. There are many reasons that a person may consider undergoing fertility treatment. Sometimes it’s to ensure that they can start a family now, and sometimes it’s to ensure that they can start a family in the future. One important component of fertility treatment is cryopreservation. This helps in retrieval and donation procedures and is often an essential part of other fertility treatments. Cryopreservation is a process in which eggs or sperm are frozen at sub-zero temperatures (-150 ?). This helps preserve the embryos or sperm so that they can be used at a later time. When you speak with a fertility specialist, this procedure may come up as part of your treatment.
